Gazetteer of Australia 2006 Release

The Gazetteer of Australia is a database of Australia’s place names - land. CGNA, with the assistance of National Mapping and Information Group, of Geoscience Australia, has produced the 2006 release of the Gazetteer of Australia.  It contains place names derived from the official place name gazetteers in each Australian State, Territory and offshore undersea feature names maintained by the Australian Hydrographic Service (Department of Defence).

Place name data within the 2006 Release is current to late-2006.  The following documents and files can be downloaded to provide more information about the Gazetteer of Australia:
